Amer (@TendToTravel) is an architect, artist and world traveller based in London.
A former Associate at Norman Foster’s London studio,
his works has been influenced by his travels around the world –
currently over 40 countries and 100 cities.
Amer gained his Diploma in Architecture and MA in Urban Design
from Oxford Brookes University and was the only person graduating with a
Distinction for his Masters degree.
Amer drew occasionally as a kid. He rediscovered his passion while at Foster+Partners and his
skills were immediately noticed by the studio. He was one of the very few architects able to lend his hand
to a number of projects simultaneously.
In late 2013, Amer’s drawing was selected as the winning entry for Etihad Airways global social media
campaign – Etihad Turns Ten Competition.
His then in-progress Melbourne 2 work was shared by a number of instagram art pages
(combined followers of 9 million people)
garnering over 300,000 likes and 2,000 comments within 7 days.
Amer’s drawings has been well received online and throughout Instagram. His works has been published extensively
amongst others by Etihad Airways, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Visit Oslo, Conde Nast Traveler and Colossal.
His works are now in private collections within the UK, Spain, Australia, Malaysia and the Middle East.
Amer realised early on the importance of understanding architecture and urban environments
in its true context. Architecture becomes useless if it doesn’t contribute to its surrounding area,
thus making travels to these places much more essential.
